Parts Needed:
(2) 30amp relays
(2) Toggle switches (You preference)
(1) Drill with 1/4" Drill Bit
(1) Box of female connectors
(1) Box of wire caps
(1) Box of butt Connectors
Wire crimper and stripper.......(no not the ones at the bar last night)..... :drunk:
Plenty 16 gauge wire
Steps:
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove cover on wherever your placing toggle switches. (Mine are on my center console in front of the window buttons.)
3. Find the two fans plugs and find their positive wire running to both fans.
4. Splice into the hot wires (red) individually and these will be the accessories leads from your relays. Run these wires to your relays and put the female connectors on to connect them to the accessory points of your relays.
5. Next run a hot (positive) lead from you battery and run a ground (negative) lead to your relay as well. Use female connecters for these connections.
6. Run the new “trigger wires” (this is the 40' or so of the 16 gauge. You don’t need all of it for this part) into the vehicle (I went up the passenger fender, across the firewall and down the crevice between the driver door/fender/hood.)
7. Crimp a female connector on that end of the wire when you have reached the toggle switch. (I ran mine under the kick panel, under my driver seat under the center console and to the top.)
8. Attach this wire to the accessary terminal on the toggle switch.
9. Then start with the piece of 16 gauge wire you just cut from the rest and run that to your ground. Put a female connector on the end that goes on your toggle switch and a round connector on your end your grounding. (I ran mine to the front right bolt that holds the passanger seat.)
10. Now drill the holes wherever your mounting your switches
11. Repeat steps 5-12 with the other relay. Make sure not to mix up which wire is which.
12. Before putting everything back together replace negative battery cable.
13. Check your toggles and make sure there working. If both are not check your connections, if one is and one is not also check your connections. You can use a multimeter to check the current flow. If your car is old you could also have a blown fan motor.
14. Make sure they are functioning correctly. And you have Got R Dun!!!
