Certain 2006 Pontiac GTO's that have developed a front suspension strut leaks at low mileage. To address the existing SPAC cases GM SPO is air freighting struts from the supplier in Australia on a weekly basis. Vehicle can be driven until the service replacement parts arrive. Dealers have asked how to identify struts that may experience the condition. Refer to P/I PCI4141 for the Julian date. The date code on is located on the center of the strut tube,
Date code format is shift) (dash) (day) (month) (year) (dash) (line) For Example: D - 16 JA 06 - 3 D - 04 MY 06 - 3
Struts manufactured between January 16, 2006 and May 4, 2006, may experience the leaking condition. Those manufactured prior to January 16, 2006 or after May 4, 2006 do not experience to the condition. Struts should not be replaced if they are not leaking.
